March 2009: Nacional 27 Fundraiser

EGBOK Mission held its first-ever fundraiser in Chicago in March 2009 and both the turnout and the support set a high bar for future events. More than 100 people gathered at Nacional 27, a popular Latin restaurant, for tapas, cocktails and a silent auction. Dozens more pledged their support by mail and online. The night was co-sponsored by the Cornell Hotel Society Chicago Chapter and the Cornell University Alumni Affairs and Development.

All together, EGBOK Mission raised nearly $10,000, which will be used to run programs that open up opportunities in Cambodia’s hospitality industry for some of the country’s most deserving young people.
