Save, save, save. And when necessary, spend wisely. Kevin Scelfo says he hopes the presentation he delivered with Erik Cortez gave students a basic understanding of “the simple concepts of saving for your future and how banks operate.”

Scelfo knows—building a new independent life will require lots of advanced planning. He says he was most surprised by the entire group’s eagerness to learn. “With EGBOK Mission’s assistance, these students are being set up for successful futures.” Scelfo wants each of the students to remember that “smart financial decisions early in life will have a large impact later on in life.”

Each student received a calculator to emphasize the importance of keeping track of money earned and money spent.
