Year in Review: EGBOK Mission Supports 75 Students, 4 Partnerships in 2010

EGBOK Mission wishes you a very happy new year!

A very warm thank you to all of our supporters for making EGBOK Mission’s growth and success over the past year possible.

And what a year it has been!

Over the past year, we have been able to grow our project in Cambodia and we are now proud to be working with more than 75 students.

We are excited to announce that we have expanded our reach to four different sites across Cambodia. In addition to our partnership with Palm Tree Foundation that began in 2009, the past year brought upon three new EGBOK Mission partner sites where our work is now under way.

In July, EGBOK Mission began work with Phnom Penh-based Children’s Orphanage Samrong, and in September, we started working with Future Light Orphanage, also in the greater Phnom Penh area. Most recently, in December, we partnered with Life and Hope Association’s Program for Advancing Girls Education in Siem Reap. Students in all four organizations are in various stages of training and education, and we look forward to guiding the upcoming application process for the 2011-2012 school year.

It is because of our volunteers in Cambodia that we have been able to expand so successfully over the past year.

Because of your support, we now sponsor 22 students studying full time in five different hospitality vocational schools in Cambodia. Additionally, we provide support for students in computer, driving and English training.

The students are participating in hospitality internships at top hotels in Cambodia such as Le Meridien, Raffles, Sofitel and Orient-Express. They are training in various positions from front office to restaurant, cooking and bakery.

The students’ progress in Cambodia is a reflection of EGBOK Mission’s supporters, whose generosity and dedication have been catalysts for the results we continue to see.

Over the past year, the EGBOK Mission team had many opportunities to connect with supporters and spread awareness for the cause. In 2010 we hosted events in Chicago, New York City and San Diego.

As we all reflect on the past year, EGBOK Mission would like extend warm and sincere thanks to our supporters, donors, sponsors and followers for believing in the organization and recognizing the value of education and employment opportunity. It is because of you that EBGOK Mission is able to empower young adults with the educational and vocational tools they need to become independent. You are sincerely touching lives and making an impact on the local level. Your dedication and commitment to EGBOK Mission’s cause is ever-clear and ever-appreciated.

Looking forward to 2011 and beyond, EGBOK Mission is eager to guide students through applications and enroll them in vocational schools for the coming 2011-2012 school year. We are excited about expansion opportunities with additional sites throughout Cambodia and other developing countries. Our hope is to take EGBOK Mission a step further to other developing countries with growing tourism where EGBOK Mission students will continue to flourish as they have in Cambodia.

We will continue to keep you updated on our progress in 2011!
